BIG N BASHY feat UNCLE DUGS
8 May 2010
Tonight we welcome a true junglist: Uncle Dugs [Kool FM, Revival, Jungle Fever].
Uncle Dugs has been a DJ on Londons longest-running jungle and drum'n'bass pirate radio station Kool FM since 2006, as well as working at Rinse FM alongside household names in the UK music scene. Dugs recreates the original jungle spirit at his own night 'Revival' in Shoreditch, ensuring this visit is gonna be grand.
Big N Bashy is one the hottest nights to hit Edinburgh’s Saturday night club scene in recent years, which has already gained a steady and loyal following amongst Edinburgh’s clubbers for its up-to-the-minute, bass-heavy sounds.
Resident DJs: Beast & Faze [jungle], David George [dubstep], Deburgh [grime], Decoy Roy [reggae].
Bored of the usual one genre per night ethos of most nights, the Big N Bashy team plays the finest reggae, grime, dubstep and jungle through a monster combination of the Bongo Club's in- house sound system and an extra six subs care of the well respected dub reggae sounds of the mighty Messenger Sound System.
With this great combo of musical styles and a killer sound system Big N Bashy delivers the biggest beats and bashiest basslines, while The Messenger ensures the good vibrations all night long!

http://www.myspace.com/randytwigg
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Randy has risen to the top of Berlin's unique underground music scene with her no holds barred, below the belt, power rock electronic sound and concerts. Playing bass with André in Mt.Sims (Hungry Eye, Gigolo), collaborating and sharing the stage with such artists as Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps), Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop, Jessie Evans), Stereo Total, T. Raumschmiere, and Jessie Evans, this act is not to be missed. With propulsive punk sensibility, it is a bold, lyric driven collision of pop consciousness and dance floor balls served hot with plenty of molten rock and analogue bubbles to keep things niiiiice and slippery.

THE DOORS ALIVE - live
15 May 2010
The Doors Alive - the No.1 tribute band to the legendary sixties, Californian rock guru's The Doors - playing live tonight. Support comes from Missing Cat and My Electric Love Affair.
The Doors Alive re-create the sound, look, presence and feel of a real 1960's Doors concert perfectly and effortlessly, transporting the crowd back in time with such classic hits as Light My Fire, When The Music's Over, Riders On The Storm, The End and many more
The singer, Willie, captures the attitude, look and voice of the late, great Jim Morrison, and the other band members have honed the other Doors members playing styles note for note. To achieve that authentic Sixties sound, the band use the very same instruments that members of the Doors originally used. These include a vintage Fender Rhodes Bass keyboard, a vintage Vox Continental keyboard and a vintage Gibson S.G. guitar
They have wowed audiences all over Europe and the U.K, from Orkney to Berlin and back again, and have played - and filled - some of the most respected venues around. In short - they don't disappoint!
Here are some of the songs you can expect to hear/see at a Doors Alive show .... TOUCH ME, 5 TO 1, PEOPLE ARE STRANGE, HELLO I LOVE YOU, LOVE STREET, UNKNOWN SOLDIER, 20th CENTURY FOX, RIDERS ON THE STORM, DOWN SO LONG, WHEN THE MUSIC'S OVER, ROADHOUSE BLUES, LOVE ME 2 TIMES, LOVE HER MADLY, STRANGE DAYS, BREAK ON THROUGH, THE CHANGELING, ALABAMA SONG, BACKDOOR MAN, L.A. WOMAN, LIGHT MY FIRE, THE END, etc

The WAILING SOULS - live
18 May 2010
Live and direct roots rock reggae from Kingston, Jamaica - The Wailing Souls with support from Robigan & I-tal Faya Sound
Fusing the harmonies of Motown with the roots and dancehall sounds of reggae, The Wailing Souls have ridden the crest of Jamaica's music for more than four decades. Nominated for Grammy awards three times, the group scored hits with classic roots reggae tunes, War and Bredda Gravlicious, Firehouse Rock, and 1992 album and title track All Over The World. Additionally, the group scored number one hits with Things and Time, Jah Jah, Old Broom, and Shark Attack.
The duo recording career has been nothing short of historic. Vocally trained by Bob Marley and the Wailers' teacher, Joe Higgs, they worked with legendary reggae producers including Coxson Dodd of Studio One, Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, Channel One Studios, Delroy Wright, Lloyd 'King' Jammy’s, as well as recording several early tunes at Bob Marley's Tuff Gong Studio.
They attracted global attention when their music was featured in the 1993 Disney film, Cool Runnings. The soundtrack album was an international hit, selling nearly half a million copies worldwide. The Souls had three songs on this soundtrack including the hit Picky Picky Head.
Formed in Trench Town, Kingston, Jamaica, in the late-1960s, The Wailing Souls have experienced numerous transformations. Their discography (over 26 albums to date) includes singles recorded as The Renegades, Pipe & the Pipers, and Atarra. Sly & Robbie and the Roots Radics are only a few of the stellar musicians who have worked with them.
Still one of the most powerful forces in reggae, the band continue to tour globally and record new songs with the vigour that they had singing in Kingston's Trench Town decades ago

‘The psychedelic power that oozes from this ... could well prove that we’ve come across the band to rival Kasabian as the UK’s leading light for unconventional rock.’
High Voltage Review
'If you like your music high on the epic and psychedelic scales, then your advised to check out Delta Mainline...a breath of fresh air in a musical climate where seemingly every new band want to sound like The Libertines. Very impressive.’
Heathenangel.co.uk
'Delta Mainline close the evening with Spacemen 3 shamanic drone rock versus a boogie-woogie blues band in a late night mid-western truck stop, all, trust me, good things.'
The Leither (@ The Leith Festival)
'A wonderfully woven piece of psyche-drone-brilliance for those needing aural stimulation whilst on a particularly sedated session.’
Subba-cultcha.com
'...this is a band who cannot be missed. Had the whole of Dry Bar (Manchester) in awe. Go check them out!'
