G&G SINDIKATAS - live - Friday 27th. January. 2012

G&G Sindikatas is the flagship act of Lithuanian Hip-hop.  It's a five-person crew consisting of three MC’s Svaras, Pushaz, Kastetas), 3 times Lithuanian DMC champion DJ Mamania and the Producer Donciavas who also writes beats for most of Lithuanian hip-hop artists.  The band has been around for 15 years making it from dark basements to filled stadium shows. 

The ideas explored in their intelligently written lyrics of the band are about social protest, real life, real emotions, simple and true, no fake hip-hop blink-blink features.  Through their career they have received numerous music awards and became one of the most air played bands on MTV Baltic.

On December 5th 2008 G&G Sindikatas released their fifth and latest album "Ishvien" which contains 18 track collection of numerous singles released to the public during the making of a full length album, as well as the new, never before heard music.  In January 2011 G&G Sindikatas played their first tour in the UK. London, Peterborough, Birmingham and Manchester where the cities that gave a very warm welcome to the band which in turn delivered a very strong performance to Lithuanian fans, thus gaining some local recognition as well.

Also last year G&G Sindikatas was accompanied by the award winning DJ Rasp (3 x UK DMC/IDA champion) with whom the band developed a warm friendship which still stands to this day and thus DJ Rasp will be joining G&G Sindikatas on this years tour.

Once again, G&G Sindikatas will co-operate with their UK partners and friends PRO X FADE, who have helped in the overall organisation and planning of this tour in the UK and Ireland.

WONKY - Friday 27th. January. 2012

Following a very sweaty dancefloor hoe-down for The Correspondents & Auntie Flo in December, involving no shortage of audience participation during Auntie Flo’s jumping set-closer (current club smash Oh My Days) and then swooning 'n' shrieking fan-girls for The Correspondents’ dapper front-man Mr Bruce, Trouble’s WONKY night is back with another bulls-eye to kick off 2012 properly.

Friday 27th January sees the Edinburgh debut of inspiring underground London talent ACTRESS (Honest Jon’s, Nonplus, Werk Discs), bringing a DJ set in a mighty double-headline bill with Edinburgh underground legend NEIL LANDSTRUMM (Nonplus, Planet Mu, Scandinavia, Tresor, Peace Frog), performing live.

Neil last played Trouble in November 2007, the night somewhat prophetically billed as a ‘dubstep vs rave soundclash’.  Landstrumm’s sound has naturally moved on again since then and this match with one of the hottest new stars in dance music’s more cutting edge firmament will be nothing less than a dazzling meeting of the minds on stage as well as a proper riot on the dance floor.  Watch yer bass bins!

Wonky residents Wolfjazz (Stepback, Trade Union) & Hobbes (Devil Disco Club, Limbo), plus VJ Smudge, provide the support, guaranteeing another night of Afrocentric rhythms, WONKY beats and wobbly basslines.
